The Wake County Property Tax Justice Working Group is a collection of community members and organizations working with Southeast Raleigh residents to address the rise of and inequities in property taxes through tax relief, appeals support, and community advocacy.

We invite the community to come back together to hear a report on the successes and challenges of our efforts so far, and to plan next steps in advocating for property tax justice.

DID YOU KNOW!

The 2024 Wake County revaluation resulted in the largest property tax value increase in history.

Wealthy homeowners are over four times as likely to appeal their property tax bill as working-class, low-income homeowners.

Black and Brown homeowners are often UNDER-appraised when they want to sell or refinance their homes but are often OVER-assessed when it comes to property taxes.

The Working Group helped over 50 residents appeal their property taxes and/or apply for property tax relief, which will result in savings of over $100,000.
