Western North Carolina has faced a tough road to recovery since Hurricane Helene struck in late September. Communities throughout the state have united to support those affected. Tourism, a major part of WNC’s economy, was impacted as many areas closed to visitors during a typically busy season.
Now, nearly a month later, while some towns are still in recovery and remain closed to guests, many communities are beginning to reopen and welcome visitors back.
