Planning Commission Meeting – 9:00 a.m.
The Raleigh Planning Commission will convene at 9:00 a.m. at the Raleigh Municipal Building, located at 222 West Hargett Street. This body reviews and makes recommendations on comprehensive plan items, redevelopment plans, zoning changes, and development regulations. Meetings are open to the public and are broadcast live on RTN 11 and the city’s streaming platform.
Canceled Council Committee Meetings
Several City Council committee meetings scheduled for April 22 have been canceled:
Safe, Vibrant and Healthy Community Committee (11:30 a.m.) Economic Development and Innovation Committee (1:30 p.m.) Growth and Natural Resources Committee (4:00 p.m.)
These cancellations are noted on the city’s official events calendar.
Bicycle & Pedestrian Advisory Commission (BPAC) Meetings
The BPAC Policy Committee meeting, initially scheduled for 4:00 p.m., has been canceled.
However, the BPAC Planning Committee will meet at 5:15 p.m. in Conference Room 419 of the Raleigh Municipal Building. This committee focuses on bicycle-related issues, including bikeway design and cyclist safety.
Community Engagement: “Rooted and Growing: Neighborhood Change” – 6:00 p.m.
At 6:00 p.m., St. Matthew’s Church (5410 Louisburg Road) will host a community conversation titled “Rooted and Growing: Neighborhood Change.” Assistant Planning Director Bynum Walter will present a “State of the City” address, followed by small-group discussions on neighborhood development and community priorities. The event offers refreshments and childcare, and registration is encouraged to help plan for accessibility services.
