1. Mount Peace Baptist Church

Located in Southeast Raleigh, Mount Peace Baptist Church is a historic African American congregation known for energetic worship, biblical teaching and strong community involvement.

The church provides several Sunday services, making it convenient for early risers and those who prefer worship later in the morning.

2. Providence Church

4. The Summit Church — Capital Hills Campus

The Summit Church is one of the Triangle’s largest church communities. Its Capital Hills campus in northeast Raleigh offers contemporary worship, Bible-based messages and ministries for children, middle school students and high school students.

5. Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral

Holy Name of Jesus Cathedral is the principal cathedral of the Catholic Diocese of Raleigh. The cathedral offers several Sunday Masses, including services in English and Spanish.

A Latin Mass is typically celebrated on the first Sunday of the month, and the evening English Mass serves the NC State Catholic Campus Ministry community.

Finding the Right Raleigh Church for You

Choosing a church is a personal decision. Before visiting, consider the worship style, denomination, service time, location and ministries that are most important to you.

Some Raleigh churches feature choirs, traditional hymns and liturgical worship, while others offer contemporary music and a more casual environment. Families may also want to ask about nursery care, children’s church, accessibility, youth programs and special-needs accommodations.

Visitors are generally welcome at Sunday services, even if they are not members. Arriving 10 to 15 minutes early can provide time to park, locate the sanctuary and learn about available programs.
