Raleigh Parks is helping local families prepare for the new school year with free back-to-school celebrations, bookbag giveaways and school-supply distributions throughout August 2026.

Events are scheduled at community centers and parks across Raleigh, including Worthdale Community Center, Method Community Park, Tarboro Road Park, Sanderford Road Park, Biltmore Hills Park and the Sgt. Courtney T. Johnson Neighborhood Center.

Most activities are open to children and families of all ages. At select giveaways, children must be present to receive free backpacks and supplies.

Back-to-School Bookbag Giveaway at Worthdale Community Center

Raleigh Parks kicked off its back-to-school programming with a free bookbag giveaway at Worthdale Community Center.
