Men of Southeast Raleigh’s 5th Anniversary Celebration

Also happening Saturday, November 7, the Men of Southeast Raleigh’s fifth anniversary celebration marks five years of community service.

The organization began in June 2021 through conversations between co-founders Anthony Pope and Alex Craven. An initial gathering of 20 men grew into a group dedicated to supporting and advocating for Southeast Raleigh’s historically Black communities.

Its work includes:

• Community advocacy: Helping residents’ voices and concerns reach local decision-makers.
• Neighborhood beautification: Supporting care for neighborhood buildings, streets, and public spaces.
• Youth education: Encouraging reading, mentorship, and educational opportunities.
• Community outreach: Working with partners to support local programs and celebrations.

Saturday’s anniversary is an opportunity to recognize that work and the relationships behind it.

Visit the Men of Southeast Raleigh’s anniversary page to learn more. Contact the organization directly for celebration logistics and admission availability.
