As we roll into Memorial Day weekend, the City of Raleigh is serving up more than just sunshine and good vibes. With a weekend packed full of fun, family-friendly events hosted by the Parks, Recreation, and Athletics Department, there’s no better time to get outside, enjoy the community, and celebrate everything that makes Raleigh special.

Friday, May 23 – Beats and Eats: Country and BBQ | 6 PM

Kick off your weekend with toe-tapping tunes and mouthwatering BBQ at Beats and Eats: Country and BBQ. This Friday night event promises great music, savory bites, and the laid-back Southern charm Raleigh is known for. Grab your boots, bring a lawn chair, and enjoy an evening of live country music and local barbecue vendors at one of Raleigh’s beautiful park venues.

Sunday, May 25 – Pudge the Frog’s Birthday Party | 1:30 PM

Bring the kids and join us in celebrating one of Raleigh’s favorite amphibians—Pudge the Frog! This adorable community icon is hopping into another year, and we’re throwing a birthday bash to remember. Expect games, treats, fun activities, and, of course, a chance to wish Pudge a very hoppy birthday. Space is limited, so don’t forget to RSVP!

Monday, May 26 – Memorial Day

While the official event lineup takes a pause on Monday, take the opportunity to enjoy Raleigh’s many parks and green spaces. Whether it’s a family picnic, a hike through one of our scenic trails, or simply some downtime in the sunshine, the city is yours to explore.
