The Road From Emancipation to Freedom

Time: 2 p.m. • Thursday • Parks, Recreation & Athletics

Explore a poignant journey from slavery to freedom—likely hosted at a city park or cultural site—to reflect on the legacies of Black history.

Juneteenth Evening – Thursday, June 19

Juneteenth: A Chavis Celebration

Time: 5–9 p.m. • John Chavis Memorial Park

Celebrate freedom and culture at Chavis Park (505 MLK Jr Blvd) with a live DJ, inflatables, crafts, food trucks, and more—all free and family-friendly  . The historic setting makes it perfect for community connection.

Fair Housing Conference: Fair Housing is Still Law

Time: 9 a.m.–3 p.m. • McKimmon Center (1101 Gorman St)

A key event hosted by the Fair Housing Hearing Board, this conference tackles housing equity issues. Open to professionals and community members, it features workshops, networking, and best practices  .

Fayetteville Street “Ask‑A‑Planner” Streetscape Plan

Time: 11:30 a.m. • Friday • Community Engagement

Join planners to review design ideas for Fayetteville Street’s public realm. Bring questions and help shape the future of Raleigh’s ceremonial downtown corridor.
