Reported by WRAL, Construction is underway at the intersection of 440 and Western Boulevard, leading to overnight closures, primarily affecting on- and off-ramps. This phase is expected to be completed by Thanksgiving, with the entire 440 widening project scheduled to wrap up next fall.

Gov. Roy Cooper has announced a $1 million grant to fund field trips for public schools in North Carolina. The Learning Happens Here fund will provide students with the chance to visit over 100 sites managed by the North Carolina Department of Natural and Cultural Resources across the state. (ABC11)
