Gather those beautiful fall leaves, rake them into piles near the curb (but not in the street!), and prepare for the arrival of our special collection crews. Team Raleigh Transportation will arrive with a giant vacuum to sweep through and collect your leaves, keeping our streets clean and clear.
To simplify the process, Raleigh is divided into 12 collection zones. The first collection pass begins in Zone 5 on Tuesday, November 12, and our crews will proceed through each zone as weather conditions permit. Check the collection schedule or our interactive map to determine the most suitable days to place your leaves out for pickup in your specific area.
Weather Watch
Our loose leaf collection program is contingent on weather conditions. Rain, snow, or icy weather can cause delays, but our city staff will closely monitor the forecast to ensure the safety and timely completion of collections. If adverse weather conditions result in delays, we will promptly inform you.
Alternative Leaf Management Options
In addition to curbside collection, consider these eco-friendly alternatives for managing your leaves:
Mulching: This method is an excellent way to conserve water, reduce weeds, and enhance soil health. It also benefits the environment.
Bi-Weekly Yard Waste Collection: Remember that you can utilize your new yard waste carts and up to 15 biodegradable paper bags for leaves as part of your regular yard waste collection.
