Downtown Raleigh will become one giant music venue when the Hopscotch Music Festival returns September 10–12, 2026.
This year’s festival will feature more than 100 performers across outdoor stages and some of downtown Raleigh’s most popular music clubs. Headliners Dexter and The Moonrocks, Cory Wong and King Princess lead an eclectic lineup spanning indie rock, hip-hop, funk, soul, psychedelic music and experimental sounds.
Whether you plan to attend all three days or simply want to experience Hopscotch’s free daytime programming, this DoRaleigh guide covers the lineup, venues, passes and essential insider tips.

Hopscotch 2026 Club Shows
Hopscotch’s club performances are where the festival’s adventurous personality really comes alive. Small downtown venues host rising performers, underground favorites and established artists in much more intimate settings.
Announced club-show artists include:
- Algernon Cadwallader
- Chuck Strangers
- Dagmar Zuniga
- Horsegirl
- Ista
- Kylesa
- Los Mirlos
- Mdou Moctar performing solo
- Oddisee
- Okonski
- Otto Benson
- Pearl & The Oysters
- Ron Gallo

Additional performers are included on the festival poster, with more than 100 artists expected throughout the weekend. The official lineup combines rock, rap, global music, punk, jazz, soul and experimental performances rather than concentrating on a single genre. Pollstar’s lineup announcement provides additional details about the first wave of performers.
Hopscotch 2026 Venues
A festival pass provides access to programming at participating locations, including:
- City Plaza
- Moore Square
- King’s
- Lincoln Theatre
- Nash Hall
- Neptunes
- Slim’s
- The Pour House Music Hall
Most venues are located within downtown Raleigh’s walkable core, but moving between stages still takes time—especially when sidewalks and venue entrances become crowded.
Club admission is subject to each venue’s capacity. Even passholders are not guaranteed entry after a room fills.
New for 2026: Moore Square Commons
One of the biggest changes this year is the introduction of Moore Square Commons, a free, family-friendly destination featuring Triangle musicians, food vendors, artists, crafts and local makers.
The space will include:
- Free live music
- Local food trucks and drinks
- A beer garden
- A local makers market
- Shaded seating
- Open lawn space
- Family-friendly activities

Moore Square Commons will be free and open to everyone, meaning visitors will not need a Hopscotch wristband to experience this portion of the festival. The performance and vendor schedules will be announced later. Learn more about Moore Square Commons.

Totscotch will return to Moore Square in collaboration with Marbles Kids Museum.
Totscotch details:

The family-focused event will feature music for children, performances by young musicians, interactive entertainment and creative activities.
Free Hopscotch Day Parties
Official Hopscotch Day Parties are another way to enjoy the festival without purchasing a pass.
These daytime concerts and gatherings take place at participating downtown businesses before the ticketed evening performances begin. According to organizers, the 2026 Day Parties will be open to the public and will not require a festival wristband.

The complete Day Party schedule is still being developed. Businesses may apply to host an official party through August 21. Watch the Hopscotch Day Parties page for announcements.

DoRaleigh Insider Tips
Build two schedules
Choose a first-choice performance and a backup for every time block. Hopscotch plans can change quickly when club venues reach capacity or two favorite artists overlap.
Arrive early for small club shows
King’s, Neptunes, Slim’s and other intimate venues can fill quickly. General admission does not guarantee entry once a club reaches capacity. Arrive before the previous act finishes if a particular performance is a priority.
Do not skip the daytime parties
Some of the weekend’s most memorable performances happen during the free Day Parties. They are also a great option for people who want the Hopscotch experience without purchasing a full festival pass.
Download the festival app
The Hopscotch app lets users review artist profiles, build personalized schedules, view venue maps and receive real-time updates. Set times are expected to appear in the app once the final schedule is released.
Wear comfortable shoes
Hopscotch involves considerably more walking than a single-site festival. Comfortable, broken-in shoes are essential, especially for anyone planning to move between City Plaza, Moore Square and multiple club venues.
Stay flexible
Trying to see every artist can turn the weekend into a race. Pick a few must-see performances, then leave room to discover unfamiliar artists. Unexpected discoveries are a major part of the Hopscotch experience.
Use Moore Square as a recharge point
Moore Square Commons will offer lawn space, shaded seating, food and drinks. It should be a useful meeting place or midday break before the evening club schedule begins.
Use public transportation or a rideshare
Downtown parking will become more competitive as the festival approaches. Consider GoRaleigh, rideshare service, a downtown hotel or parking farther from the main festival footprint and walking.
Prepare for September weather
Raleigh can remain hot and humid in September, with afternoon storms still possible. Check the forecast, stay hydrated and bring permitted rain protection. Review the official festival rules before packing because individual club policies may vary.
Is Hopscotch Family-Friendly?
Moore Square Commons and Totscotch are designed to welcome families. However, individual club shows may have age restrictions, particularly at venues that primarily operate as bars.
Parents should check the age policy for each venue before building an evening schedule. Children age 12 and younger generally do not need a festival ticket, but they cannot enter VIP areas or parties.
Why Hopscotch Remains One of Raleigh’s Best Festivals
Hopscotch transforms downtown Raleigh rather than separating festivalgoers from the city. Local clubs, restaurants, bars, public spaces and businesses all become part of the experience.
Its 2026 lineup offers recognizable headliners while preserving the festival’s emphasis on discovery. Fans can watch Cory Wong command City Plaza, catch Oddisee or Mdou Moctar in a smaller room, explore a free Day Party and discover Triangle musicians at Moore Square—all during the same weekend.
That variety makes Hopscotch more than a collection of concerts. It is a three-day celebration of Raleigh’s music community and downtown culture.
Festival details, set times and participating businesses may change. Confirm information through the official festival website before attending.
